If It Walks Like A Duck …

March 26th, 2009

Things have been quiet around here lately. I’ve mostly been very busy and the only recent posts have been on my “professional” blog and a lot of commenting on other people’s blogs … it seems that everyone comes up with good ideas for posts at the same time I do and subsequently get the jump on me … anyhow …

I was recently introduced to watkykjy by my friend stii … and more particularly the “Wat Kyk Jy Fok Jou!” project that deals with bad driving and (more specifically) people parking like cunts. Their philosophy: “If you park like a cunt, you most likely drive like one as well”

I made my first submission today and, if you’re in the Cape Town area and park like a cunt, beware … I’m on a mission to expose more of you inconsiderate dickheads.

If you spot someone driving or parking like a cunt, take a photo and pass it on – details are on their website. Now if only we can find a similar initiative that exposes corrupt politicians …

Proof that blondes aren’t anywhere near as daft as we claim…

Apologies to all my blonde friends, I couldn’t help but share this :D

Well first I would like to apologise to Nicharry for claiming that he never started his “what do you listen to” post. What happened was that I saw his post and encouraged him to start a game of tag along the same theme. I picked up on the post in my Google feed reader. What I did not realise was that he changed the post to do just that, instead of starting a new one. He also tagged me, so here goes…

AC/DC – Back In Black

Black Sabbath – Greatest Hits

Creaming Jesus – Too Fat To Run, Too Stupid To Hide

Korn – Life Is Peachy

Led Zeppelin – Physical Graffiti

Machine Head – Burn My Eyes

Metallica – Master Of Puppets

Carl Orff – Carmina Burana

Paradise Lost – Shades Of God

Pink Floyd – Wish You Were Here

Rammstein – Rosenrot

Sepultura – Nation

Sisters Of Mercy – A Slight Case Of Overbombing

Skinny Puppy – Last Rights

Slayer – Reign In Blood

Slipknot – Vol.3 The Subliminal Verses

System Of A Down – Steal This Album

Tool – Lateralus

Van Halen – Women And Children First

Yes – 90125

So there it is … there are some bands/artists that I would still have liked to include, but it took me forever to finish this post as it is, so let’s not go there.

Dear Idiot

Thank you for the SPAM. I am glad to hear that all is well and that you are finally living that dream of sitting on your fat ass, doing absolutely fuck-all and earning big bucks for it.

As for me … I prefer to work for a living. No matter how many times they say it on Carte Blanche and how many people send me the same stupid email with fake testimonials, I cannot bring myself to accept Bill Gates’ money for the AOL deal – it just doesn’t seem like real work to me and you know how I am about these things.

Please SPAM me again so that I can justify blacklisting your email address.

Your friend

Sorry Hardworking Cunt

George from the air?

…well not for good actually, going on a round trip of ZA – Durban, Kimberley (yes Kimberley), Jozi, Cape Town and Jozi again … all in just under three weeks.

Sound like fun? We wait and see … anyhow … about the photo: the lovely view of absolutely nothing more than fluffy clouds as I left from George Airport.

During this little expedition I hope to hook up with SheBee, Tyler Reed & Wikidknickers (actually at the time of posting, I had met up with SheBee already).

More later…

BREAKING NEWS

June 11th, 2008

An earthquake with the strength of 8.1 on the Richter scale hit Zimbabwe Early this morning. Two million Zimbabweans are reported dead and over a million are injured. The country is totally ruined and the government doesn’t know where to start and is asking for help to rebuild. The rest of the world is in shock.

Canada is sending troopers to help the army control the riots. Saudi Arabia is sending oil. Latin American countries are sending supplies. The European community (except France ) is sending food and money.

The South African government, not to be outdone, is sending two million Zimbabweans to replace the dead ones.

Viva South Africa!!!!

You heard it here first :)

A good reason to procrastinate – let’s start a(nother) game of TAG

June 10th, 2008

OK, some time ago I was chatting to Nicholas and about music (amongst other things) and encouraged him to get this going … which he never did. So here goes. You should know the rules by now, only we’re not interested in what people don’t know about you, because (due to the nature of the last round of TAG) everybody now by default already knows some things about you that they didn’t before.

So … you’re about to embark on a road trip to a theme party. You’re only allowed 5 CD’s, 3 essential items and are prompted to take along one outrageous/stupid item of clothing that you have to wear at the theme party to make you stand out (you must currently be in possession of this item of clothing). Do this and then TAG 5 people.

My CD collection:

  1. TOOL – Lateralus (not really meant for road tripping, I know, but one album you have to listen from start to end before you pass)
  2. Sepultura – Nation
  3. System Of A Down – Steal This Album
  4. Corvus Corax – Live auf dem Wäscherschloss
  5. Slipknot – Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)

Essential items:

  1. Cellphone
  2. Toothbrush
  3. Fresh underwear (if it’s plural, does it count as more than one item?)

…and I’d take along my bright orange fring t-shirt for the party (the one with the letters falling off).

nicharry you’re it for not starting this earlier
wikidknickers you’re it … obviously
stii you’re it for accusing me of being a lazy blogger
absolutwillie you’re it for tagging me in the previous round
charl_vn you’re it, because you’ll prolly end up road trippin’ with me anyway and I’d like a heads up as to what we’re going to listen to during your half of the trip.

Now go forth and TAG.
